3 Cheap and Ineffective Hyperhidrosis Treatments

“Hyperhidrosis” is one of those words that you don`t hear every day. But since it refers to excessive perspiring, many of us have experienced it. While several hyperhidrosis treatments are available, sometimes it`s difficult determining which one is right for our needs. Several treatments are inexpensive or free (if you have them already). But do they work? Here are some of the most common cheap treatments for excess sweating:

1. Wearing black.
For the same reason that black clothing can make you look slimmer, it can also help to hide perspiration stains. In the world of art, black is the presence of all colors. So if every possible shade of color is already present in a shirt or blouse, the contrast between any discoloration on the clothing will be significantly less than when wearing a light-colored shirt—and even more so than when wearing a white shirt.

So does this solution work as one of the possible hyperhidrosis treatments? The survey says: yes and no. While black clothing can help to hide sweat stains, it`s only a cosmetic fix. It doesn`t address the real problems linked to excessive sweating, which are related to chemical imbalances in your body. Another practical issue is that it`s not advisable to wear dark clothing every day of the week. Dark colors simply aren`t attractive on some people. And you probably don`t want to look like you`re dressed daily for a funeral.

2. Lotions and creams.
The “in thing” these days in the world of health and beauty aids, is skin care products. So why not choose hyperhidrosis treatments in the forms of lotions and creams? The problem is that these products are basically created for those who perspire in “normal” situations—such as when they`re nervous or in a hot room. These products simply aren`t strong enough for those who have major problems related to perspiring. Keep in mind that these problems are linked to an imbalance in your sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. In other words, the root of the problem is what happens under the skin, rather than atop it! Basically, creams and lotions for skin only have cosmetic qualities that improve how your skin looks. They don`t impact how it works.

3. Supplements.
The manufacturers of these supplements claim that their products are among the list of effective hyperhidrosis treatments. They often contain high concentrations of magnesium. This is a metal on the periodic table, which does seem to provide some relief for those who suffer form excessive perspiration. But that`s only part of the story! Consuming too much magnesium can cause a wide variety of new health problems, including:

* coma
* exhaustion
* high blood pressure
* poor concentration
* poor reflexes
* unsteady heart rates
* weaker muscles

So while magnesium is a natural metal, having too much of it in your diet can create some unnatural side-effects. So, it`s advisable to leave those supplements alone.

While some hyperhidrosis treatments are dirt-cheap or even free, unfortunately the results are often superficial. Instead, you should search for holistic remedies that address the root problem, rather than the symptoms. Stop Sweating and Start Living gives the nitty-gritty on such remedies, and I recommend you get your hands on it because it's a great resource. It's comprehensive but easy to understand.
